Just checked Club nintendo and I hadn't added my own DS so have just done that and can now convert my 2000 stars into 500 points to buy the internet channel.

There are flash games out there which can be played on the wii, will have to look for some sites.

I've always thought about getting a wii...and the new black limited edition one has just made me want one even further! It looks so much better in black. Plus for some reason it's cheaper than the white one (well, in Gamestation anyway...)

Btw, anyone selling a wii by any chance? :)

Wow, next year? That's quite soon for a new console! D:

Sounds more like a Wii version 2 than a new console.

I find that Wii games have some of the best and most imaginative art out of the 3 consoles it's just the machine doesn't have the graphical capabilities to back it up, things like Mario Galaxy and Zelda with HD "next gen" graphics would be amazing.

I mean look at how good but shit Epic Micky looks, must be pretty frustration to design something really cool but then have shit poly count and texturing, I want these platformers to look as good as Ratchet and Clank!

Surely they would agree with me? Look how fucking amazing that concept art is.... must be frustrating for the developers to look at those pictures and then start trying to recreate that using the Wii's hardware.

Perrin in that thread has actually fallen out with me over me arguing your point. Saying I am a fanboy and troll. He removed me from twitter, I just think he's young and hasn't realised games don't matter... he gets very easily upset over these things. I've met him a few times in RL and he seems like a personable chap too.

I've ruined your friendship with someone? lush!

What a noob though, anyone who says they're happy with the visuals at the moment and wouldn't want Banjo-Kazoie or Ratchet and Clank quality of HD graphics are lying to themselves.

What they want the game to look like:

What they have achieved on the Wii:

Lame.

People say graphics aren't important... but I disagree, videogames are visual media so of course it matters, art is important but when the graphics can't keep up with the artists ambitions it looks a bit of a mess... I enjoy exploring in platformers, its more fun to explore something which looks good. Fact.

I played a wii for the first time last night, ok, it was only wii sports - Bowling, tennis, golf ... but, what a piece of shit! Seriously. The novelty of swinging a controller to make something happen onscreen wears off after about 5 mins. It's like, wow, great ... next ...

I'm sure there are some good games but the controller is terrible, flimsy and I found unresponsive at times even for something as simple as bowling! The golf was even worse, the little dope I was controlling would whack the ball as I was swinging back. Grrrrr.

Give me a solid beast of a machine that can handle this-gen graphics and play DvD-rs anyday. That'll be the 360 then. Alls I need is games and I'd love it.

Wiii reminds me of one of those crappy boxes with pre-installed games that you plug into the tv to keep the kids amused for 10 minutes.

Motionplus makes the controllers a lot better but you are right, most fat kids learnt a long time ago that you don't need to use any energy to move your wrist slightly.

My mum won a Wii with Wii Fit and it arrived yesterday. :D

She's not tried the Wii Fit yet but we've had a few games of bowling (only got 1 remote).

Do you recommend MotionPlus for a casual gamer? Bearing in mind we're already going to have to buy another remote and possibly nunchuck.

Also, any stand-out games for you?

Only one game on the Wii I'd even bother playing, New Super Mario Bros.

All the rest are just shite.

The problem with the motionplus is that there are no games for it, probably worth buying sports resort because you get one with it but it will be a while before there are other games worth having it for.

As the Wii is a mess about with the family console the best games are things like Raving Rabbids. Stupid mini game compilations are where it is at.

Having said that, there are plenty of games I have had fun playing on. Pro Evo is brilliant on the wii, although your mum might not enjoy it as much as I do.

 I convinced one of my friends to buy Wario Ware and he loved it (as did I!) so I'll probably get that for ours.

I've always wondered about Raving Rabbids. I remember seeing trailers for Raving Rabbids 2 in the past and thinking they were hilarious.

Do games have to support MotionPlus for it to work? Or does it just make everything smoother in general?

They need to support it and as most wii owners don't have it most games don't support it. The wii can cost you a fortune in peripherals, if you add it all up it's the dearest console.

The new rabbids game is a platformer but the others are great mini game madness, the TV one even uses the wii fit board.

Mercury revolution for something 'completely different'.

Stuff like the bowling soon loses its edge when you realise you can just sit on the settee and move your wrist a little for the same results.

The sitting on the sofa argument shouldn't work, because that's no fun and defeats the purpose of the game, it would be like saying "i could go for a jog through the park, but using an electric wheelchair would be just as effective"

I think the wii is great, I mean it's a piece of shit, but playing my gf and my family on mario karts is much more fun than playing Assassin's Creed 2 by myself.

It's just different really, I think comparing the Wii to 360 is a bit like comparing Bop It to PC, Wii and Bop It are fun at christmas and when you are with a bunch of people who don't really play videogames but you aren't going to want to be playing that shit by yourself for hours, because they are both shallow and make you feel like a retard.
