The only free footy streams I have tried are pretty poor, but better than the radio.

I use my wii for streaming now, the 360 is a pain in the arse and noisy as fuck.

this is actually pretty cool, I can watch a fair bit on my current subscription.

EDIT: I can actually watch everything, you may not be aware but there is an introductory multiroom voucher for a months free multiroom..coolio!

Shame there are only 24 channels at the mo, but all 4 sports channels are there, no more missing the football when the wife wants to watch other stuff..cant complain for no extra cost (well for a month anyway!)

Is there a definitive answer on the "on demand" stuff? My friend at work signed up today, and at the end there was the option to subscribe to a package, or just go for the "on demand" stuff at a pay per view.

Now i guess you can do the pay per view stuff on the pc, but can you do this on xbox? And can you get the Haye-Valuev fight without the subscription?

If you are already a sky subscriber you can watch the on demand stuff for free...you just need to sign up to Sky Player and link it to your viewing card (I cant remember exactly because I did it months ago so I could watch stuff on the pc).

If you aint a subscriber you get diddly...I think.

How does this work if you're not already a sky/Gold subscriber? Is it expensive to set up? I'd have to get a year's Gold membership on the xbox, then pay for the sky service - I take it you don't have to already have Sky of any kind to get this if you're going to pay?

I'm just pondering on whether or not this might be better than just getting sky HD in after Christmas?

SKY HD is a better option...

if you pay for say films and sports and all the other channels then you can basically use the ondemand films off the sky player for xbox anyway.. and 90% of the stuff would be free...

I wouldnt consider sky player as a standalone option if I was you...

yeah, I thought as much. There's always deals on the HD box for new customers. We were on Sky before we moved, Jacky was a customer for years and never got anything good from them. If she was to upgrade she'd have had to pay full price for the HD box. New customers get the box for €29 or something, and free connection. If we do it, it'll be under my name. I've never signed up to sky personally.

I signed up with some dodgy code that was floating about the internet.. it got me everything half price for 12months..

My bill is £33.50 a month I get Sky HD with all the channels.. movie/sport (except ESPN) I also have another sky box downstairs for the kids... just a standard box down there...

I have 4 device's I can watch sky player on.. including 1 xbox :)

so im more than happy with the deal I got...

also no install charge.. and no charge for the boxes :)

It hit HUKD* for like 25mins before it was yanked so hard people cried...

I forget what the code was now :/ I don't know if its still floating around...

Im sure it was a total fuck up on Sky's side.. but for some reason I wasnt pulled up on it like a few others... and im now more than happy to pay the £33 a month :)

I cancelled my subscription last night as the deal i was on was running out, and i didn't fancy paying £45 for 12 channels, and i must say i was surprised how easy it was to cancel!

I was envisaging numerous phone calls and being passed from one sales rep to another to stay, but all you had to do was click the "cancel" button! Best bit about sky player!! :D
