Fable 3 announced
At gamescom this week in Germany Peter Molyneux took to the stage for a very special announcement. For the past few days the Lionhead Studios website had been counting down with pictures of revolutionising people throughout history. Would it be some sort of new god game like Peter's classic Black and White? Well yes and no.
It was in fact Fable 3, but the overall goal of the game will be for the player to start a revolution and take control of the land as the new king or queen. Peter also revealed that you will play as the child of your Hero from Fable 2 and the game will read Fable 2's save files and base your new character around that.
Demos, demos, demos
This week saw the arrival of demos for Dirt 2, Section 8, Mini Ninja's and Lost Planet 2. All in the name of research, I was forced to try them all and suggest you do the same.
Alan Wake Is Finished!
Yes that's right the long in-development Alan Wake is finished according to the developers and will now under go several months of polish before its Spring 2010 release. This is very good news indeed and should allow for a lot of time to tighten up graphics, gameplay features and performance. Alan Wake really is awake and didn't die in his sleep.
Fable 2 To Be Released In Episodes
Lionhead Studios also announced this week that Fable 2 would be broken down into five episodes and released on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. But get this, the first one is free! I have to say the idea that you can play the first bit of the game for free and then pay for the rest if you want is a very interesting one indeed. We don't yet know the price of the other four episodes, but if the price is right this could be a winning model for other games too.
